Daniel Raimi is a composer and guitarist currently living in Durham, NC, where he was born. Daniel attended Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT, where he studied with Anthony Braxton, Eric Charry, Tony Lombardozzi, Abraham Aadzenyah, and many others.

In 2006, Daniel moved to Los Angeles, and began scoring numerous projects for film, television, internet, and cell-phone applications. He has written for a wide array of instrumental ensembles, from small groups to chamber orchestras to jazz big-bands, as well as rock, country and West African groups. Daniel is also an experienced electronic composer, working to create modern electronic textures with an organic sense of musicality.

From 2004-2006 Daniel made his home in New York City, composing for and performing with New American Wing, a 3-piece instrumental group of guitar, cello, and trumpet. He's also written original music for films, and performed in numerous live and studio settings. He's been lucky enough to perform and/or record with Anthony Braxton, Djelimady Tounkara, Peter Evans, Brent Arnold, Andrew VanWyngarden, Jim McAuley, Chris Dingman, Carl Testa, Matana Roberts, Taylor HoBynum, Greg Rogove, and many others.

As an instructor, Daniel has worked with hundreds of students in New York and Los Angeles, teaching with LA's Rock the Classroom and the NYC Guitar School. Currently, he's teaching music at Camelot Academy, Durham Arts Council, and Duke String School.
